At BJS, we develop a natural curiosity about the past. Our units are planned to give an introduction to the methods of historians and show a chronological sequence of important events. We build understanding through immersive experiences. For example, Year 5 visit Hampton Court Palace, whilst Prime VR visit our school to offer experiences linked to the Maya, Romans and Saxons.

We aim to give pupils a lifelong passion for finding out about the past and we often hear from our former pupils that they have continued their love of History by choosing to study the subject at GCSE level and beyond.
